Original commissions · by BABUSHKA
A painting,
created for you.
I create original paintings through conversation, observation, and intuition— shaped by your story and the space where the work will live.
The commission
Tell me who it is for—and where it will live.
You do not need a finished idea. We begin with what you know: the person, the place, the feeling, and the details that make the work personal.
- 01
Tell me about you
We begin with a private conversation about the person the painting is for, what matters to them, and what they want the work to carry.
- 02
Show me the space
The room, its light, scale, colors, treasured objects, and atmosphere become part of what I consider before I paint.
- 03
Let the work arrive
I sit with what you share, then meditate, sketch, and create an original painting guided by attention, intuition, and imagination.
For those who wish to go deeper, subconscious exploration through hypnosis can be added as an optional part of the process.
The artist
I AM BABUSHKA
I listen before I paint.
I am the girl who grew within herself, like a matryoshka. With every layer, another talent appeared. Another way of seeing. Each one complete, yet always part of the same whole.
BABUSHKA is the artistic identity of Diana Babus, a Romanian-born visual artist who studied at the University of Fine Arts in Bucharest.
Every painting is created as a meditative ritual around the person for whom it is made. She sits with their story, allowing thought, intuition, and imagination to guide the work.
Through this process, she gives the painting its own life—infusing it with her attention, intention, and energy. It is created to carry that feeling into your home and offer moments of joy, warmth, and discovery each time you return to it.
Made with intention.
Carried forward by you.
